WordPress, Framer or Next.js? How we choose a platform

The best platform is the one your team will actually use after launch. Here is the short list of questions we ask before recommending one.

We build on all three, so we don’t have a favourite to sell you. We have a set of questions, and the answers usually pick the platform for us.

Who edits the site, and how often?

If a marketing team publishes every week, they need an editor they enjoy. WordPress with custom blocks and Framer are both excellent here. Next.js with a headless CMS works too, with a little more setup.

What does the site need to do?

What will it cost to run?

Hosting, plugins, licences and the hours someone spends on updates. A cheaper build can be the more expensive site over three years.

Choose the platform for the team you have, not the team you wish you had.
